Description

Mesa Public Schools is seeking supplemental products that support core instruction (tier 1) and/or academic intervention (tier 2 or 3) in general K-12 and AP/IB social studies. The supplemental products should align to the Arizona state social studies standards, include instruction of social studies disciplinary and inquiry-based skills, have a strong evidentiary backing, and have resources that address differentiation and appeal to students’ learning variabilities. The evaluation criteria include whether the resources support social studies core and/or intervention instruction, align with the Arizona state social studies standards, and align with inquiry-based practices. • The key areas of focus for the supplemental products include civics and government, economics and personal finance, geography and human-environment interaction, history and inquiry practices, and media literacy and current events. • The evaluation process will consist of two phases: Phase 1 will evaluate whether the resources meet the non-negotiable criteria, and Phase 2 will evaluate the desired characteristics of the resources. • The district is seeking products that are cost-effective, include assessment resources, and provide teacher support resources and data analytic tools.
