Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) released its annual omnibus Research Announcement (NRA), Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) – 2022. This opportunity is for the Solar System Workings program element, which is one of the individual program elements within ROSES. Proposals may be submitted at any time, pending certain eligibility timing issues related to resubmissions and duplicate proposal avoidance. The typical period of performance for an award is three years, but some programs may allow up to five years and others specify shorter periods. • Proposers must be affiliated with an institution at nspires.nasaprs.com/ and, in general, NASA provides funding only to US institutions. • Organizations outside the U.S. that propose on the basis of a policy of no-exchange-of-funds; consult the Guidebook for Proposers for specific details. • Some NRAs may be issued jointly with a non-U.S. organization, e.g., those concerning guest observing programs for jointly sponsored space science programs, that will contain additional special guidelines for non-U.S. participants.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget amount for this opportunity is not explicitly stated in the document. However, considering the typical period of performance for an award is three years and the nature of the work proposed, a rough estimate for the budget amount could be between $500,000 and $5,000,000. This estimation is based on general information about research grants and the budget of NASA. The actual budget amount may vary depending on the specific proposal and the requirements of the project.
