Laser Tracking Systems

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group intends to award a purchase order to Automated Precision, Inc. for the annual Calibration, Certification, and Preventive Maintenance (CCPM) of laser tracking and probing systems used in the maintenance of F/A-18 aircraft. The systems require factory-level calibration and software updates, which only Automated Precision, Inc. can provide. The work is critical to prevent a work stoppage for structural repair lines. Key points to consider: • The requirement is for annual CCPM services for laser tracking and probing systems. • Automated Precision, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the only known source that can provide the required services. • The systems are not supported in the Federal Supply System and are only available through Automated Precision, Inc. • The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis due to the exclusive licensing agreement and the OEM's unique capability to provide the required services.
