The Town of Royalton is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to conduct a preliminary feasibility study on town-wide thermal energy assets and opportunities to develop efficient, low-carbon thermal energy systems. The study will include a technical and economic analysis of existing and potential thermal energy assets, a district thermal energy network, and conceptual designs for priority clean thermal projects. The selected consultant will provide a comprehensive final report documenting findings, analyses, and recommendations.
• The consultant will conduct a geotechnical and local thermal resource assessment, building thermal energy assessments, and conceptual thermal energy network design and alternatives.
• The consultant will participate in public engagement sessions and provide a final report that summarizes baseline thermal energy use and emissions, identifies priority areas and building clusters for clean thermal solutions, and outlines recommended near-, mid-, and long-term actions.
• The consultant will provide a thermal energy plan and suggested implementation roadmap that best reduces energy consumption, peak demand, greenhouse gas emissions, project lifecycle costs, and energy costs while supporting equitable participation by a broad range of building owners.
