Description

The County of Ocean is seeking a contractor to supply riprap materials for roads and bridges. The riprap must meet specific requirements, including being hard, durable, and resistant to weathering and water action. The materials must also meet certain gradation requirements. The supplier will be required to provide two samples of rock, one at the delivery site and one at the quarry, to ensure the gradation of the riprap supplied meets the specifications. • The riprap must meet the 2007 NJ DOT specs for roads and bridges. • The materials must be free from overburden, spoil, shale, and organic material. • The supplier must provide mechanical equipment, a sorting site, and labor to assist in checking gradation at no additional cost to the County. • The County will resolve any differences of opinion between the Engineer and the supplier by dumping and checking the gradation of two random truckloads of stone.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate without more information on the quantity of riprap materials required. However, based on the specifications and requirements outlined in the document, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the supplier will need to provide a significant quantity of riprap materials to meet the County's requirements, and that the cost of these materials will be substantial. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the size of the project, the location of the quarry, and the cost of transportation.
