1ST STREET NORTH RETAINING WALL REHABILITATION PROJECT

The City of Charlottesville is seeking bids for the 1ST STREET NORTH RETAINING WALL REHABILITATION PROJECT. The project involves the demolition of approximately 15 feet of existing "rubble" retaining wall and replacement with a new RW-3 retaining wall, as well as related sidewalk, pedestrian, and landscaping reconstruction and/or restoration. The contractor will be required to provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform the work. The project is expected to start on September 14, 2026, and be substantially completed by October 23, 2026, with final completion by November 6, 2026. • The contractor must submit all required insurance and bonds prior to award of contract and commencing with the work. • The contractor must provide a construction schedule, personnel chart, and subcontractors and suppliers list within 10 calendar days after execution of the contract. • The contractor must secure and pay for all necessary bonds, permits, fees, tests, and inspections. • The contractor must provide for the thorough and complete final cleaning of all components within the project work area.
