OVW Calendar Year 2025 Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction Reimbursement Program

The Office on Violence Against Women is offering a reimbursement program for Tribal governments that have exercised Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction over non-Indians who commit certain covered crimes in Indian country. The program aims to reimburse Tribal governments for expenses incurred in exercising this jurisdiction. Eligible applicants are limited to Federally Recognized Tribes exercising Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction over any covered crime. The program has an estimated funding of $4,400,000 and expects to make 20 awards. • Eligible applicants are Federally Recognized Tribes • The program reimburses expenses incurred in exercising Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction • Covered crimes include assault of Tribal justice personnel, child, dating, sexual and/or domestic violence, obstruction of justice, sex trafficking, stalking, and protection order violations • The program has an estimated funding of $4,400,000 • The program expects to make 20 awards
