Description
The United States Air Force is conducting market research to identify possible sources that can manufacture or acquire a small form factor Low Probability of Identification (LPI) / Low Probability of Detection (LPD) Friendly Force Tracker (FFT). The tracker should be capable of operating across a range of new and/or emerging waveforms operating in and out of previously unused bands. The system requirements include physical dimensions, weight, power source, digital screen, keyboard, antenna connector, battery life, and data accessibility. The Air Force is seeking responses from interested parties that demonstrate their technology and qualifications to provide the system.
Some key features of the system include:
• Physical dimensions: not exceeding 5.5" x 3.5" x 2"
• Weight: no more than 9 ounces
• Power source: rechargeable internal power source
• Digital screen: capable of presenting 150-character messages to the user
• Keyboard: digital or physical keyboard
• Antenna connector: removable antenna with a non-proprietary connector
• Battery life: operate for 7 days when transmitting 1 message or location update per hour
• Data accessibility: all FFT data must be accessible over Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) using a web interface
