Combined Sources Sought Notice and Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract for Mid-Wave Infrared Distributed Feedback Laser Systems

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing Mid-Wave Infrared Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser systems and associated hardware. The acquisition of these specific laser components is critical to advancing the division's ongoing experimental capabilities and high-accuracy measurements. The required laser systems should be assembled, optically aligned, and comprise a distributed feedback laser diode, mounting option with thermoelectric cooler, lens cap for laser collimation, and heatsink and connectors for electronics and optics. • The laser systems should have a wavelength of 2700 nm ± 10 nm and 3000 nm ± 10 nm. • The systems should be compatible with a thermoelectric cooler, negative temperature coefficient thermistor, anti-reflection coated window, and lens cap. • The systems should have a lens cap for laser collimation and heatsink and connectors for electronics and optics. NIST is conducting market research to identify alternative sources that are capable of meeting the minimum requirements for these commercial products and services.
