Description

The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration, is seeking a contractor to demolish and dispose of the degraded decking and uneven walkway framing of the existing trestle pier, preserve the existing structural pilings, and reconstruct the pier using new framing and decking materials at the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) shore facilities onboard Fort Eustis base compound. The contractor will be required to provide all labor, equipment, materials, parts, and tools to accomplish the work outlined in the Statement of Work. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder on a lowest price, technically acceptable basis. • The contractor must submit a quotation with itemized pricing and a total price, including the fully burdened labor rate. • The contractor must provide a brief narrative demonstrating capability to complete the project and ability to secure JBLE base access. • The contractor must provide up to 3 past performance references for similar marine/carpentry projects. • The contractor must comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, executive orders, rules, and regulations. • The contractor must provide a fully repaired trestle pier that meets the specifications of the Statement of Work.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the type of construction and the materials required. The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of a trestle pier, which would require significant labor and materials costs. Assuming the use of standard materials and a moderate level of complexity, the total cost of the project could be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000. This estimate takes into account the need for specialized labor, equipment, and materials, as well as potential costs associated with site preparation, permitting, and inspections.
