Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide durable medical equipment (DME) services to Veteran beneficiaries in the VISN 4 East region. The contractor will be responsible for storing, delivering, installing, setting up, and repairing DME equipment. The services will be provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including federal holidays. The contractor must meet Joint Commission standards and have a comprehensive procedure manual that includes infection control, safety, and patient rights and responsibilities.
• The contractor must have a facility in place to ensure the capability to perform the required services.
• The contractor must provide education, training, and instructions to each Veteran beneficiary at the time of delivery, installation, set-up, or repair.
• The contractor must have a well-established communication system providing 24-hour emergency services.
• The contractor must have an emergency preparedness plan in place to provide continuing level of care and support in the event of an unexpected interruption to VA beneficiary services.
