The Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) is requesting information regarding the design, fabrication, and potential assembly and installation of a suspended work platform system for the MAGIS-100 experiment. The system is needed to allow personnel to safely access regions of the experiment in a vertical shaft. The project is currently in the Preliminary Design phase, with procurement of the required equipment anticipated near the end of 2026.
• The suspended work platform system must be designed to provide access to the instrumentation in the MAGIS-100 experiment.
• The system must be able to be assembled and installed in a vertical shaft.
• The system must be able to support the weight of personnel and equipment.
• The system must be designed to prevent movement in the horizontal plane.
• Responders should provide a sketch, drawing, and/or model of a suspended scaffold design that aligns with the requirements listed in the attached SOW.
• Responders should provide a budgetary cost estimate and lead time to deliver the scaffolding parts.
• Responders should provide a description of the assembly and installation procedure needed to operate the scaffolding.
