Lobbyist - State and Federal

The Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County is seeking a lobbyist to represent the County before the Florida Legislature, state and federal officials and administrative agencies, the Florida Governor and Cabinet, and the U.S. President and Cabinet. The lobbyist will be responsible for securing legislation and funding for programs and projects that have been identified by the County as priorities. The selected firm will provide a range of services, including communicating with the County Administrator, attending state and federal agency meetings, and providing weekly and monthly updates on issues of importance to the County. Some key responsibilities of the lobbyist include: • Communicating and providing a monthly progress report to the County Administrator • Alerting the County to pending appropriations or actions that will impact the County • Representing the County's interest in securing state and federal assistance for various funding aspects • Assisting in establishing meetings with Governor, Cabinet/Constitutional Officers, state legislators, U.S. legislators, U.S. President/Cabinet, appropriate staff or state and federal agency members • Advocating positions before the State Legislature, its committees and agencies, and Federal Legislature, its committees and agencies, that are beneficial to the County.
