The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is seeking pre‑qualified contractors to provide extra heavy‑duty towing and recovery services on the Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. Applicants must demonstrate extensive equipment inventories, qualified personnel, a New Jersey‑based garage within prescribed mileage limits, and meet stringent insurance and financial‑capacity requirements. The pre‑qualification process closes on October 8, 2026, after which qualified firms may be invited to submit bids for a five‑year contract.
• Minimum equipment: four 35‑ton hydraulic wreckers (one must be a 60‑ton rotator), heavy‑duty flatbeds, Landoll trailers, forklifts, and other support gear.
• Garage location: within 5 mi of the Turnpike zone (7 mi for Parkway Zone 2) and must provide on‑site secure storage for multiple vehicles.
• Experience: at least five years of extra‑heavy‑duty towing on NJ State Police‑approved routes, with seven verifiable recoveries in the past five years.
