The City of Tuscaloosa is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the existing diesel‑powered generator at City Hall Annex I, convert it to natural gas, replace the building’s automatic transfer switch (ATS), and fully remove the fire pump system along with associated equipment. The scope includes demolition, removal, installation, testing, and commissioning of the new generator and ATS, as well as re‑routing fire water piping, relocating the fire department connection, and removing an existing hydrant. All work must comply with applicable codes and be completed by the bid deadline. • Replace diesel generator with natural‑gas generator and install new building ATS. • Remove fire pump, fire pump controller, annunciator, and related piping; reconnect fire water system without pump. • Relocate fire department connection (FDC) and remove existing fire hydrant; provide any necessary civil work for pipe rerouting. • Provide all required permits, inspections, and testing; submit as‑built drawings and operation manuals. • Coordinate with City officials and the engineering firm (Smith, Stegall & Associates) for plan access and project oversight.
