RTA 2 Dry Dock Rebid

The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) of New Orleans is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a full‑service dry‑dock refurbishment of its ferry vessel “RTA 2”. The work includes docking the vessel, extensive hull and superstructure repairs, marine‑system overhauls, painting/coating, and related project‑management and safety compliance activities. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and will be a fixed‑price, all‑inclusive award. • Dry‑dock the 104‑ft ferry, perform hull plate replacement, blast cleaning, and apply epoxy/antifouling coatings. • Overhaul mechanical systems: propulsion shafts, bearings, hydraulic steering, generators, pumps, and associated valve/hose replacements. • Replace/upgrade electrical components, batteries, lighting, navigation and public‑address systems, and install new fire‑detection and CO₂ safety equipment. • Conduct comprehensive USCG inspections, provide Marine Chemist certification, and comply with OSHA, EPA, and DBE regulations. • Provide all site logistics (tug service, crane/forklift, shore power, hazardous‑material disposal, and weekly progress reporting).
