Description

The City of Hollywood is seeking to procure a Crime-Lite Auto forensic imaging technology from Foster & Freeman USA Inc. The equipment is a comprehensive forensic imaging technology that packages light sources, camera, filters, and goggle functionality. It is portable and compact, used to search, detect, and capture evidence on scene. The sole-source justification is based on the fact that Foster & Freeman is the manufacturer and sole-source provider of the Crime-Lite Auto technology. The city has researched alternative products, but none can provide the necessary features and functionality. The procurement includes the Crime-Lite Auto kit, virtual product training, and shipping and handling. The total cost of the procurement is $48,255.51. Some key features of the Crime-Lite Auto include: * A full-spectrum UV-Vis-IR camera * 55 illumination wavebands * Motorized filter wheel with intelligent filter selection * Integrated 7” tiltable touchscreen * Images and videos stored in non-proprietary Micro SD card with metadata file * Annotation and enhancement options * External, rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack with up to 3-hour run time * Compatibility with the DISCOVER fingerprint imaging system * Coaxial light box accessory for photography of non-treated fingerprint evidence on reflective surfaces * Oblique light ring attachment for multi-angle surface illumination * Clip-on polarizing filters for better contrast and injury detection The city believes that the Crime-Lite Auto is essential for its crime scene investigations and laboratory work, and that it will provide a significant improvement in the quality of evidence collected and analyzed.
