Single & Dual-Purpose Police Canine (K-9) Dogs

The City of Surprise is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for the purchase of Single & Dual-Purpose Police Canine (K-9) Dogs on an as-needed basis. The purpose of this Solicitation is to award multiple vendor(s) and enter into a contract with Offeror to provide the canine dogs with a guarantee on health, skeletal condition, trainability and compatibility with the City's K-9 unit officers. The offered canines may be Certified/Trained or Green dogs. • The City's Police Department K-9 unit will evaluate potential police dogs on a range of specific criteria, focusing on health, temperament, compatibility and other general factors essential for police work. • The K-9 will be required to pass a basic pre-selection process which may include hunt test, drive test, obstacle/agility evaluation, environmental evaluation, bite work evaluation (if applicable), and sociability to perform the tasks in front of a member of the K-9 unit. • The Contractor shall be responsible for offering a selection of available single or dual purpose healthy K-9 that will meet the specifications from the date of purchase. • The Contractor shall, at its sole expense, provide a replacement guarantee for any K-9 returned due to concerns or issues identified after purchase.
