RFSQ - Trailing Bloodhound Canine and Handler Investigative Services

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is seeking qualified vendors to provide Trailing Bloodhound Canine and Handler Investigative Services on an as-needed basis. The services include scent-specific searches to look for a person’s specific scent signature obtained by a scent source. The contractor shall respond to and provide handler and scent-trailing/tracking canine to investigative locations, or related areas, provide services throughout the Los Angeles County area on an as-needed basis, make court appearances when required, as approved by the Department. The minimum mandatory qualifications include providing one handler and one scent trailing/tracking bloodhound canine, certified in scent-specific man-trailing/tracking, trained in various geographical terrains, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. The vendor must also be available 24/7/365 and have a vehicle for transportation. • The vendor must identify and provide one handler and one scent trailing/tracking bloodhound canine. • The canine must be certified in scent-specific man-trailing/tracking and up-to-date on all vaccinations. • The handler must be certified in scent-specific man-trailing with the canine and have a current basic first aid and CPR certificate. • The vendor must be available 24/7/365 and have a vehicle for transportation. • The services will be provided throughout the Los Angeles County area on an as-needed basis.
