Alvin Community College is seeking a complete Network Access Control (NAC) solution based on Aruba ClearPass. The solution must support the College's current Cisco-based network while enabling a multi-year transition to Aruba networking infrastructure. The scope includes procurement of hardware and licensing, professional services for design and implementation, replacement of the existing Cisco ISE environment, and knowledge transfer. Key elements of this RFP include physical ClearPass appliances, centralized wired and wireless authentication, consolidation and rationalization of wireless SSIDs, centralized guest access, and compliance alignment with FERPA, GLBA, TAC 202, and NIST.
• The College operates two campuses with approximately 7,200 total wired endpoints and estimates a maximum of 1,500 wired endpoints concurrently online.
• The College seeks to replace the existing guest access solution with a centralized, policy-driven guest access solution within ClearPass.
• The proposed solution must support a centralized, role-based access model that distinguishes access based on user identity and intent.
• The College anticipates growth to approximately 8,000 total students by 2030, and the proposed solution must support projected institutional growth via licensing expansion and/or additional appliances.
