Request for Proposals for Insurance Consulting Services

The Brownsville Navigation District is seeking proposals for insurance consulting services to advise and place the District's primary or excess workers' compensation, marine, property, equipment, liability, and other policies. The successful consultant will work closely with the District's administration to identify and evaluate the District's risk exposures, provide professional advice regarding the appropriate types and levels of coverage, and assist in the development of requests for proposals to secure primary or excess insurance for the District's insurable risks. Key responsibilities include risk identification, policy placement, and claims handling. The consultant must have at least 10 years of experience with accounts similarly sized to the District. • The scope of services includes advising and placing insurance policies, advising the District regarding its insurance requirements for tenants and vendors, and assisting the District with review and handling of insurances provided by tenants and other third parties. • The consultant will be required to provide proof of insurance requirements, including commercial general liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance. • The contract term is for one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year terms. • The evaluation criteria include responsiveness to the purpose and scope, relevant experience and reputation, and cost.
