Landfill Chipping & Grinding Brush, Non-Treated C&D, Green Waste & Wood Waste Services

The City of Watsonville is seeking a qualified company to provide chipping and grinding services for brush, non-treated construction and demolition (C&D) waste, green waste, and wood waste at the city-owned landfill. The selected company will be required to chip and grind organic material into wood chips and mulch, and may be required to haul off-site wood chips and mulch. The contract will be for a period of three years, with the option for the City to extend the contract for an additional two years. The City is looking for a company with experience in providing similar services, and the ability to perform the work in a safe and efficient manner. • The primary work consists of chipping and grinding organic material into wood chips and mulch. • The City will hold rights to material if needed at time-of-service request. • The City Landfill is permitted for 500 tons of stored organic material. • Grinding and chipping is needed on average 2 times a year. • The contract will be issued to the firm most qualified for the particular service needed at the time. • The City may request an informal interview with one or several of the top ranked firms. • The selected company will be required to secure auto and general commercial liability insurance naming the City and its employees additional insured. • The company will be required to comply with the City's Conflict of Interest Code and provide evidence of insurance coverage.
