2026 Small Scale Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)

The Vermont Agency of Transportation is seeking applications for the 2026 small scale local Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant to improve safety on local roadways. The grant program aims to support projects that are ready to go to construction in 2026, with some flexibility for projects that may require construction in 2027 due to extenuating circumstances. • The program is open to state-wide projects. • The grant application requirements and project development process will be reviewed in an optional training session. • Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend or view the training session. • The training will be a web-based training through Microsoft Teams.
