Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking a vendor to analyze ophthalmic images to quantify spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular measures. The project involves analyzing electroretinogram (ERG) data, ocular coherence tomography (OCT) data, and intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA) data. The vendor must have experience in advanced ocular assessments collected with specific vendor devices used for this study. The scope of work includes analyzing pERG data, assessing retinal ganglion cell function, and providing interpretation of the retinal blood barrier integrity. The project will be performed at the University of California, San Diego, and the period of performance is from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028, with an option for an additional year. • Analyze 25 ERG datasets, 25 OCT-A datasets, and 3 OCT IVFA datasets • Develop perfusion and vessel density maps • Assess the density and axial distribution of the retinal microvasculature with OCT-A images • Compare to other datasets previously analyzed to provide comprehensive final results and interpretation summary • Complete analysis in a timely manner to support SANS milestones

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate without more information about the scope and complexity of the project. However, based on the fact that the project involves analyzing ophthalmic images and providing interpretation of the results, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require a significant amount of time and expertise from the vendor, and that the NASA will be willing to pay a premium for high-quality research and analysis. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the level of competition for the contract, the vendor's experience and qualifications, and the specific requirements of the project.
