Description
This solicitation is a one‑time acquisition of a complete, turn‑key personnel hoist mounted on an under‑bridge inspection truck for the California Department of Transportation. The contractor must deliver a fully integrated vehicle that meets Caltrans Specification 05382‑036‑261, including a diesel‑engine truck chassis, hydraulic hoist with 60‑ft horizontal and 65‑ft vertical reach, all required safety and control systems, and full documentation and warranty. Delivery must occur within 550 calendar days after the purchase order (or 210 days after chassis receipt, whichever is later). The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with a “all‑or‑none” stipulation.
• Quantity: 1 complete truck‑plus‑hoist unit (truck cab, chassis, and hoist).
• Technical requirements: 900 ci diesel engine (≥ 520 bhp), 6‑speed automatic, dual‑steer front axles, 72‑in front‑axle spacing minimum, 5 % grade stability, 8 % super‑elevation stability, 700‑lb basket, video‑monitor, intercom, 120 V AC outlets, etc.
• Deliverables: vehicle, hoist, manuals, warranty agreement, training (optional), and all required certifications/forms.
• Delivery location: Division of Equipment – Equipment Receiving, 1920 35th St., Sacramento, CA 95816.
• Key dates: IFB posted May 20 2026; questions due May 29 2026; bid due June 8 2026; bid opening June 8 2026 2:15 PM PT (conference call).
• Small‑business preferences: 5 % preference for CA‑certified SB/MB/NVSA or for non‑SB bidders that subcontract ≥ 25 % to CA‑certified small businesses; optional DVBE and TACPA preferences.
