Rapid DNA Instrument

The City of Escondido is seeking a Rapid DNA Instrument to be used by the Police Department for analyzing reference and evidentiary samples. The selected vendor will provide the instrument, training, and support for the system. The contract term is expected to commence on November 17, 2025, and end on December 31, 2026. The key features of the proposal include: • Providing a Rapid DNA Instrument capable of producing a full DNA profile in approximately 90 minutes • Laptop and software for instrument operation and data uploads • Training for designated staff and supervisors • Information on consumables, including shelf-life and storage requirements • Options for technical support and certified field service engineers • Operating and maintenance manuals, software, licenses, and a subscription for software/firmware upgrades • Warranty terms and cost breakdown quote for samples/tests • On-site training quote for the system and software • Best practices for collection and processing of samples The City of Escondido reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to negotiate with qualified vendors.
