Description
The Navajo Division of Transportation is seeking a qualified contractor to procure, install, test, and commission an FAA‑approved Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS III PT) at Tuba City Airport. The scope includes equipment supply, civil foundations, electrical and communications infrastructure, integration, FAA commissioning support, training, and final close‑out documentation. Bidders must demonstrate recent AWOS installations, hold manufacturer authorizations, and provide required bonds, insurance, and a 6 % Navajo Nation sales‑tax line item. The electronic bid deadline is 1 Sep 2026, with award targeted before the end of September.
• Supply and install a complete FAA‑certified AWOS III PT system (sensors, processor, tower, cabinets, software, manuals).
• Perform civil works (tower/foundation, site access, fencing, restoration) and electrical/communications work (trenching, conduit, grounding, surge protection, VHF/telephone/data integration).
• Provide manufacturer start‑up support, FAA‑commissioning technician, training, warranties, and full documentation transfer to the Department of Airport Management.
