Pyrophoric Device Demonstration

The Department of War (DoW) Joint Services are seeking a qualified supplier to demonstrate an expendable pyrophoric countermeasure device that can be used alone or with existing onboard/offboard systems to protect U.S. aircraft from infrared‑guided missile threats. The effort aims to identify a new source for devices such as M211, MJU‑49/B, MJU‑64/B, MJU‑66/B, XM219, MJU‑50A/B, MJU‑51A/B, and MJU‑52A/B. The contractor will be responsible for design validation, safety testing, and performance demonstration under realistic operational conditions. • Develop and demonstrate a functional pyrophoric countermeasure device. • Conduct safety, reliability, and performance tests that meet DoW specifications. • Provide documentation, data packages, and a final report for DoW evaluation. • Potentially transition the demonstrated technology to a production supplier for future aircraft countermeasure programs.
