Gene Pumping Plant Interim Employee Housing Rehabilitation

Metropolitan Water District is seeking a qualified contractor to renovate a set of employee housing units at the Gene Pumping Plant village in San Bernardino County. The work is time‑and‑materials, must be performed under California prevailing‑wage rules, and includes a broad range of residential‑rehabilitation trades as well as hazardous‑material abatement. • Scope: plumbing, carpentry, flooring, doors/windows, electrical upgrades, lighting, exterior stucco patch, drywall, interior/exterior painting, fence and roof repair, HVAC installation, asbestos and lead abatement, and related site‑specific safety and environmental controls. • Requirements: California C‑License (Class A/B or B‑2), EPA‑certified renovation firm, ASB certification (or qualified subcontractor), 10 % bid bond, payment bond equal to contract value, compliance with prevailing‑wage regulations, and a minimum 25 % SBE/DVBE participation. • Schedule: Mandatory pre‑bid conference/site tour on June 10 2026; electronic bid submission by July 1 2026; contract duration up to 600 working days after notice to proceed; $250 K not‑to‑exceed ceiling (subject to change via change orders).
