Description

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is seeking qualified vendors to provide second‑tier next‑generation sequencing (NGS) analysis of dried blood spot specimens for lysosomal disorders. Approximately 250 newborn screening specimens will be processed each year over a three‑year contract (with two optional one‑year renewals). The vendor must deliver official NGS reports within 14 business days of specimen receipt, support an online results portal, and price each condition individually. No bid guarantee is required, but mandatory bidder registration with the State of Kansas is required prior to the deadline. Submissions are due electronically to [email protected] by 2:00 PM CST on 13 Oct 2026.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $400,000

The contract covers 250 specimens per year. Assuming an average charge of $200‑$500 per NGS test (typical range for specialized genetic panels), annual revenue would be roughly $50,000‑$125,000. Over the base three‑year term this yields $150,000‑$375,000, with potential additional revenue if optional renewal years are exercised or bulk discounts are negotiated. Therefore a reasonable budget range is approximately $100,000 to $400,000 for the full contract period.
