Description

The Village of Hoffman Estates Fire Department is establishing a rotating, pre‑qualified list of board‑up companies to be called upon after fire or disaster incidents when property owners have no preferred contractor. Vendors must submit a registration packet by the deadline, demonstrating capability to provide board‑up, winterization, emergency electrical and heat services, temporary fencing, and structural stabilization, along with insurance, background‑check compliance, branding, and a victim‑assistance program. Successful registrants are placed on a list that is used on a rotating basis for each incident; inclusion does not constitute a contract, and each job is treated as a separate service call. The program also requires vendors to sign an indemnity/hold‑harmless agreement protecting the Village. • Mandatory submission of a comprehensive packet (insurance, background checks, branding, references, victim‑assistance plan). • Requirement to respond on‑scene within 60 minutes (or pre‑approved longer ETA). • Annual renewal of registration; non‑compliance can lead to a minimum one‑year suspension. • No monetary award is disclosed; compensation is per‑incident and negotiated after each dispatch.

Budget estimate

$25,000 – $150,000

No specific contract value is disclosed; payments are likely on a per‑incident basis. Based on typical municipal emergency board‑up rates, a single incident may range from a few thousand dollars for basic board‑up to $20,000‑$30,000 for larger structures requiring extensive winterization, electrical work, and fencing. Assuming a vendor secures 5‑10 incidents per year, annual revenue could fall between $25,000 and $150,000, depending on incident size and complexity.
