Description

The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) is seeking proposals for the advanced development, clinical evaluation, and FDA clearance of mNGS-based diagnostic assays for viral and bacterial pathogen detection. The goal is to support the development of highly flexible and rapidly adaptable systems capable of identifying all known viral and bacterial pathogens within a given specimen and reconfiguring to detect emerging pathogens during public health emergencies. Both laboratory and point-of-care mNGS solutions are sought. • The systems should be able to identify all known viral and bacterial pathogens within a given specimen. • The systems should be capable of reconfiguring to detect emerging pathogens during public health emergencies. • The use of existing mNGS-based sequencing platforms or mNGS platforms that are already in development is required. • Both laboratory and point-of-care mNGS solutions are sought.
