Sole Source - Sci-Text® Master Replacement / Upgrades

The City of Port St. Lucie intends to enter into a non-competitive contract for the purchase of a Sci-Text Plus system, which is a proprietary product of BARNEY'S PUMPS. The system is used to monitor lift stations for alarms and send text message notifications to maintenance personnel. The contract includes hardware installation, programming, start-up, and training of staff. The justification for the sole source contract is that BARNEY'S PUMPS is the exclusive manufacturer, developer, and support provider for the SCITEXT Family, and no modifications or additional work to the existing SCADA system are required for compatibility. • The contract is for a one-time purchase of the Sci-Text Plus system. • The estimated expenditure for the current term of the contract is $30,575.00. • The system includes a 10.4 color touch screen, multi-carrier cellular modem and SIM card, electrical breaker, router stand, Ethernet cable, and cellular antenna. • The services included are hardware installation, programming, start-up, and training of staff.
