Construction of 16''- Potable Water Main Extension (Bartow Rd. - CR 540 A/Interconnect Site)

The City of Lakeland Water Utilities Engineering is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced contractors for the construction of a 16-inch potable water main extension. The project involves constructing approximately 800 linear feet of 16-inch DR-18 potable water main and all associated appurtenances and fittings. The water main will connect an existing 16-inch water main located on the west side of Bartow Rd (US Highway 98) and extend to the proposed Lakeland, City of Bartow, and Polk County Utilities potable water interconnect site. Some key aspects of the project include: • Construction of 16-inch DR-18 potable water main and associated appurtenances and fittings • Connection to the stub-out to be constructed by others at the intersection of US-98 and J Day Drive • Compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to safety and health • Maintenance of traffic and temporary traffic control • Utilization of best management practices to control polluted runoff and prevent flooding The City of Lakeland encourages the use of minority and women-owned businesses as subcontractors or in joint venture arrangements.
