Description
The VA is seeking a qualified contractor to modernize and renovate the elevator cab interiors, hoistways, and associated electrical systems across seven floors of the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. The work is broken into multiple “Work Zones,” each with defined scopes such as pit electrical upgrades, cab interior refurbishment, hoistway electrical upgrades, door removal/installation, and hallway fixture replacement. Infection‑control protocols (negative air pressure, HEPA filtration, barrier walls) are required throughout construction. The project spans roughly 70 weeks, with phases ranging from 16‑week major modernization periods to 1‑week targeted upgrades. • Scope includes complete elevator modernization for elevators P6B, S10B, P8B, P9B, P‑7B across all floors. • Includes electrical, mechanical, and interior finish work, plus removal/installation of doors and hall fixtures. • Strict infection‑control measures (Class III/II) must be followed, with permits from the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). • Work zones are sequenced floor‑by‑floor; each zone has a defined duration and lead‑time requirements. • Contractor must coordinate with VA environmental services and maintain documentation for all barriers and air‑pressure monitoring.
