The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement for the Historic Inscription Documentation project. The project aims to conduct an intensive survey of Aztec East and West Ruin and the Aztec Ruins National Monument Visitor Center to identify and fully document historic era inscriptions. The project will be conducted by Archeology Southwest under the direction of the Aztec Ruins National Monument Supervisory Archeologist and Paul Reed, Principal Investigator. The project will include three phases of work: identifying and fully documenting historic era inscriptions, synthesizing data into a comprehensive and detailed report, and completing an interpretive report detailing the learned narratives of the work for NPS public interpretation use. Key aspects of the project include:
* Conducting an intensive survey of Aztec East and West Ruin and the Aztec Ruins National Monument Visitor Center
* Identifying and fully documenting historic era inscriptions
* Synthesizing data into a comprehensive and detailed report
* Completing an interpretive report detailing the learned narratives of the work for NPS public interpretation use
* Providing an experienced historic inscription work crew to collect data needed for cultural resource reporting
* Ensuring that crew members adhere to all park rules and follow guidelines established by park staff for the safe and orderly operation of the national park
