BJA FY25 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program

The BJA FY25 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program supports state, local, and tribal governments, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, probation and parole departments, and sheriff’s departments in developing, implementing, or expanding de-escalation and crisis response training programs. The program aims to improve law enforcement responses to and outcomes for individuals in crisis who have behavioral health conditions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or traumatic brain injuries. Key aspects of the program include: • Developing and implementing de-escalation and crisis response training programs • Improving law enforcement responses to individuals in crisis • Enhancing safety and protecting officer wellbeing • Providing tactical skills, strategies, and technology for effective de-escalation and crisis response • Supporting state, local, and tribal governments, law enforcement agencies, and correctional facilities
