Walker County School System – Network Switches & Wi‑Fi Access Points RFP

Walker County School System (WCS) is issuing an RFP to replace network switches and Wi‑Fi access points across its 18‑school district. The scope covers supply of Layer‑3, 48‑port POE+ switches with 10 Gbps+ uplinks, classroom and common‑area Wi‑Fi 6/7 access points, and five‑year cloud‑management licensing and support. Installation, configuration, and services are excluded and will be sourced separately. The district requires all equipment to be E‑Rate eligible, and vendors must be USAC‑registered and able to assist with E‑Rate filings. Submissions must reference the ALJP2026 mini‑quote contract and include the vendor’s E‑Rate SPIN. Evaluation will weight price (40 %), completeness (20 %), interoperability (15 %), prior experience (15 %), in‑state status (5 %) and warranty (5 %). • Provide 48‑port Layer‑3 switches with POE+, 4 × 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks, QoS, routing, and cloud‑management licensing (5‑year term). • Supply classroom APs (minimum 2×2 radios) and common‑area APs (minimum 4×4 radios, external antennas) supporting Wi‑Fi 6/7, multi‑SSID/VLAN, POE, and cloud‑based control. • Include all required licensing, cloud‑software, and 8 × 5 support for at least five years; pricing must remain valid until USAC confirms E‑Rate funding for FY 26‑27.
