Description
The City of Salina is seeking a qualified contractor to demolish the existing scale house, prepare the site, and construct a new scale house with two truck scales, plus associated entrance improvements including pavement, curbs, sidewalks, and drainage. Work must be performed on a firm unit‑price basis and all items must be listed on the bid form. The contract is awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting the specifications.
• Demolition of existing scale house and truck scale, disposal of materials, and extensive earthwork to achieve required sub‑grade elevations.
• Construction of a new scale house with full architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, plus installation of two calibrated truck scales with foundations and approach slabs.
• Site improvements: aggregate base, asphalt pavement, concrete pads, curbs, sidewalks, grading, drainage, and storm‑water control measures.
• Contractor provides all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals on a firm unit‑price basis; bid bond required per EJCDC C‑430 form.
