The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a qualified contractor to perform hazardous‑fuel reduction vegetation removal and herbicide application on the Seney National Wildlife Refuge in Michigan. Work includes cutting, pulling, and removing herbaceous plants, woody shrubs, and small trees across multiple treatment units (totaling roughly 146 acres), followed by immediate cut‑stump or backpack foliar herbicide treatment of target invasive species. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, supervision, and required permits, operate within a defined season (Oct 2026 – Sep 2027), and comply with extensive environmental, safety, and historic preservation regulations. <br/><br/>• 17 acres – North & South Show Pools (vegetation removal within 20 ft of dike) <br/>• 9 acres – Lower Goose Pen (similar scope) <br/>• 30 acres – Marshland Wildlife Drive (shrubby noxious vegetation, manual removal of specific weeds) <br/>• 10 acres – Wild Parsnip treatment (backpack foliar herbicide) <br/>• 50 acres – General low‑to‑moderate complexity clearing <br/>• 30 acres – Backpack herbicide application <br/>• Must use licensed herbicide applicators, provide GPS track logs, and adhere to hunting‑season, fire‑danger, and endangered‑species restrictions <br/>• Contractor responsible for equipment security, waste disposal, site restoration, and all required insurance (minimum $1 M public liability)
