Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research to identify parties interested in providing non-invasive urine testing for prostate cancer. The test should provide a risk score to help differentiate patients with high and low risk of aggressive prostate cancer. The vendor should ship test kits directly to patients with a prepaid return label to the vendor's testing facility. The applicable NAICS code is 621511 (Medical Laboratories). • The test risk score should be based on an analysis of RNA markers and should not incorporate PSA levels in its algorithm. • The vendor should not require the DRE (digital rectal exam) prior to collection of the urine specimen. • The vendor should provide test kits to the laboratory department for distribution to designated patients with a prepaid return label to the vendor's testing facility. • The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred in response to this market survey.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget amount is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide specific pricing information. However, based on the complexity of the non-invasive urine testing for prostate cancer, the budget amount could range from $100,000 to $500,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of test kits required, the cost of shipping and handling, and the cost of analyzing the test results.
