Description

The San Antonio Water System is soliciting quotes for a pilot program to evaluate anti-ragging technologies that can reduce pump clogging, improve operational reliability, and lower maintenance and energy costs at wastewater lift stations. The pilot will focus on technologies that proactively detect and mitigate the impacts of ragging, wipes, and other non-flushable materials. Vendors will be evaluated on their ability to demonstrate measurable improvements in reliability, maintenance reduction, energy efficiency, and overall lifecycle cost benefits. The pilot will last for 120 days or as needed. Some key aspects of the pilot include: • Reducing pump clogging and improving operational reliability • Lowering maintenance and energy costs • Validating solutions that can operate with existing pump infrastructure • Reducing manual pump cleaning and emergency callouts • Extending asset life and providing measurable operational and financial benefits

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, but it can be estimated based on the scope of the pilot program. The pilot is focused on evaluating anti-ragging technologies for wastewater lift stations, which could potentially save the San Antonio Water System a significant amount of money in maintenance and energy costs. Assuming the pilot is successful and the technology is implemented on a larger scale, the budget could range from $100,000 to $500,000, depending on the size of the implementation and the level of cost savings achieved. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of the technology, the number of wastewater lift stations involved, and the level of cost savings achieved.
