The City of Tulsa is seeking a professional artist or artistic team to design, fabricate, and install a single original mural (including pillar artwork) on the I‑44 under‑pass walls and pillars along historic Route 66. The project budget is $40,000, covering all design, materials, protective anti‑graffiti coating, site preparation, scaffolding, insurance, and related expenses. The mural must be original, non‑commercial, culturally relevant to the Route 66 corridor, and approved by ODOT. Evaluation will be based on artistic merit, historical context, narrative richness, place‑based insight, and technical feasibility.
• Site: East‑bound wall (≈155 ft × 13 ft) and West‑bound wall (≈175 ft × 13 ft) plus eight 11‑ft‑6‑in pillars (≈5,400 sf total).
