Description

The City of Orlando and the Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Agency are seeking a qualified contractor to provide pressure washing services for various city locations on an as-needed basis. The scope of work includes pressure cleaning of sidewalks, pavers, curbs, gutters, signs, and other structures and areas as requested by the CRA and city staff. The contractor must have a minimum of five years of experience with pressure washing services and provide references for similar projects. The contract will be for a three-year term with the option to extend for two additional one-year periods. Some key requirements include: • Providing all labor, supervision, water, materials, equipment, supplies, tools, transportation, tolls, and disposal fees necessary to complete each work order • Using environmentally friendly ("green") products for cleaning • Providing a list of equipment owned and chemicals used for cleaning with the bid submittal • Maintaining safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used in the cleaning process • Coordinating scheduling of work with the city or CRA project manager • Removing dirt, gum, oil, marking paint, and other matter from walking surfaces • Pressure washing medians and adjacent areas where applicable • Providing recommendations for cost-effective services and future enhancements • Maintaining traffic (MOT) permits if required and supplying and erecting barricades and signs before work commences • Notifying the city or CRA of any damage, vandalism, or theft discovered during work and filing a police report if necessary • Providing specialized pressure washing services for the removal and remediation of hazardous materials in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations

Budget estimate

$300,000 – $1,500,000

Based on the information provided, it is difficult to estimate the exact budget for this contract. However, considering the scope of work and the fact that the contract is for a three-year term with the option to extend, the budget could be substantial. The city has not provided a specific budget for this contract, but the fact that they are seeking a single contractor to provide services on an as-needed basis suggests that they may be looking to spend a significant amount. The pricing proposal includes estimated quantities and unit costs for various services, including pressure washing for sidewalks, curbs, streets, and other hardscapes, as well as labor rates for additional cleaning. The total estimated cost for these services is not provided, but based on the estimated quantities and unit costs, it appears that the city is expecting to spend at least $100,000 to $500,000 per year on these services. Overall, the budget for this contract could range from $300,000 to $1.5 million over the three-year term, depending on the actual services provided and the rates negotiated with the contractor.
