The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking sources capable of providing wheelchairs, brand name or equal to Staxi, for the Loma Linda VA Medical Centers. The required characteristics include non-collapsible, steel oval tubing arm rests, automatic fail-safe brakes, non-marring composite wheels, and high-quality casters with anti-tip mechanism. The wheelchairs must be able to nest within each other for storage, have a weight capacity of 500 lbs, and be offered in multiple colors. Interested companies should provide information about their capabilities, size status, and representations of their business. • Must be non-collapsible (non-folding) • Steel oval tubing arm rests with non-porous sleeves that can lift for easy patient transfer • Automatic, fail-safe brakes with handle control • Non-marring 2 1/8” composite wheels with 8” diameter, 5” non-marring casters with sealed bearing • High-quality casters with anti-tip mechanism • Storage space for items weighing up to 25 lbs • Must be offered in (at least 3) multiple colors for identification between units • Must be able to “nest” within each other for storage • Regular Chair- Width-27”, Length 41”, Seat to Floor 21”, Back Height 40.5” Seat Width 20.5” • Nesting dimensions- Nest with cushion- 12”, First Chair 41” • Must weigh no more than 57lbs • Occupancy capacity 500 lbs • Cushion, Oxygen Tank Holder, Leg Rest: o Anti-Microbial cushions o Must fit chair o Leg Rest must elevate
