The Advanced Technology Test and Development Program (ATTDP) is a government market research effort aimed at determining potential sources with advanced technology test and research and development capabilities. The program supports the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) Technical Center (TC) with specialized technical expertise and assistance to advance its core mission areas, including Directed Energy (DE), space operations, cyberspace, hypersonics, and integrated air and missile defense. The contractor will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing specialized laboratory spaces, providing dedicated technical mentoring and assistance to the USASMDC intern incubator program, and conducting comprehensive testing, evaluation, and threat assessment to ensure the survivability of strategic, theater, and tactical missile defense assets.
Some key tasks and responsibilities include:
• Developing and maintaining a robust radar and optical target signature database for selected models
• Performing targeted experiments to assess counter-IED, counter-UAS, radar, and small satellite technologies
• Conducting high-velocity impact experiments, analyzing impact observables, and assessing how flow environments affect interceptor sensor accuracy
• Evaluating innovative discrimination concepts, replica decoys, and other penetration aids using surrogate sub-scale models in dynamic test scenarios
• Providing manufacturing and machining support to ARF projects as well as various SMDC Tech Center projects
The contractor must be able to perform tasks supporting various laboratories and R&D domains, including the Aerophysics Research Facility (ARF), Directed Energy (DE) and High Energy Laser (HEL) Research, Quantum Enhanced Science and Technologies Laboratory (QuEST), Concepts Analysis Laboratory (CAL), Cybersecurity Laboratory, High Powered Microwave (HPM) Laboratory, and Radio Frequency (RF) Laboratory.
