6515--Brand-Name or Equal: Digital Transcutaneous Blood Gas Monitoring System Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to procure 2 new Digital Transcutaneous Blood Gas Monitoring Systems for the VA Northern California Health Care System. The system will be used for continuous and noninvasive patient monitoring of carbon dioxide partial pressure, oxygen partial pressure, functional oxygen saturation, and pulse rate. The procurement will be a firm-fixed-price purchase order. • The system must be a brand-name or equal product, with the Sentec tCOM+ Hospital Monitor and V-Sign Sensor being the specified products. • The system will be used for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations. • The system must be reusable and waterproof. • The procurement is exempt from the Nonmanufacturing Rule and the Buy American Statute due to the lack of domestic manufacturing and the need for a waiver. • The system must be FDA approved.
