Service and/or Repair of Refrigeration Units

The Passaic Board of Education is seeking bids for the service and/or repair of refrigeration units in various school locations. The successful bidder will be responsible for providing qualified personnel and equipment to adequately service and repair the refrigeration units. The contract term will be from July 1st, 2026, through June 30th, 2027. The bidder must have been the owner of an operating contracting business for the past five years in performance of servicing and repairing various refrigeration units. Some key responsibilities include: • Providing service as may be required to repair the various refrigeration units in good and efficient operating condition • Being on call duty 24 hours a day, weekends, and holidays • Supplying qualified refrigeration servicemen to properly service all types of equipment used in the schools • Filling out a Board Labor Repair Slip for each service call made during the duration of the contract • Guaranteeing all work for a minimum of 90 days, with related call-backs within the 90-day period being on a no-charge basis for labor or materials • Purchasing replacement parts from original equipment/manufacturer and/or their licensed representative • Performing an operational test of the component and/or system in the presence of Board personnel after replacement or repair of major components • Submitting catalog cuts and other pertinent data of the proposed component and/or part for approval before replacement or installation • Providing a written guarantee for major components and/or parts replaced, which will be guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of completed installation.
