Distributed Energy Resource - Rooftop Wind Microturbine Project

The City of Pasadena's Department of Water and Power (PWP) is seeking proposals for the design, engineering, permitting, procurement of materials, writing of a construction bid request, and maintenance of a rooftop wind turbine that can produce at minimum 5 kW to be installed on a municipally owned building in the City Maintenance Yards. The objective is to select a private entity to develop this distributed energy resource (DER) rooftop wind turbine for operation by PWP. Proposals must include the purchase price of the wind turbine unit and the engineering required to properly install and operate this unit. Key aspects of the project include: • Design and engineering of the rooftop wind turbine • Procurement of materials and equipment • Permitting and compliance with government rules • Writing of a construction bid request • Maintenance of the wind turbine • The project aims to increase the number of DER installations in the city and promote energy efficiency • The City of Pasadena is committed to accelerating the shift of its energy supply portfolio to carbon-free and renewable resources • The selected vendor will be required to provide a lump-sum price for performing all services and work called for in the scope of work The City of Pasadena is looking for a vendor who can provide a comprehensive solution for the design, engineering, and maintenance of the rooftop wind turbine, and who can commit to the project's objectives and timelines.
