Description
The County of Queen Anne’s is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive grounds‑maintenance services for the Blue Heron Golf Course over a five‑year period. The scope includes mowing, fertilizing, weed control, aeration, bunker upkeep, light tree pruning, irrigation scheduling, operation and repairs, as well as maintenance of the surrounding maintenance building area. The contractor must supply all equipment, materials, and labor, and must maintain a full‑time superintendent on‑site year‑round. Monthly inspections by the County and arbitration by the University of Maryland’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will ensure compliance with performance standards. Proposals are due in hard‑copy format by October 30, 2026.

• Contract length: 5 years (2027‑2031)
• Services: mowing, fertilizing, pesticide application, aeration, bunker maintenance, irrigation system operation/repair, maintenance‑yard upkeep
• Materials & equipment: all supplied by contractor (seed, fertilizer, pesticides, fuel, etc.)
• Staffing: minimum 6 years golf‑course experience, superintendent with turf‑grass degree, on‑site 12 months/yr, residence within 30 min of course
• Submission: three bound hard‑copy proposals, no electronic/fax, due Oct 30, 2026, 1 PM
• Pre‑bid: optional meeting Oct 22, 2026, 1 PM at the course

• Payment: net 30 days after receipt of requisition
